Islamabad Police Prioritize Security for Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit

Islamabad: The security of foreign dignitaries attending the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad is of utmost importance. A high-level meeting led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi outlined comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety and smooth proceedings of the summit.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting, which included DIG Security Jawad Tariq and other senior officials, focused on the deployment of well-prepared police teams at all strategic points and the use of advanced technology from the Safe City Islamabad system. The IGP directed the enhancement of security protocols, particularly in and around the Red Zone, where search and combing operations will intensify in residential areas.

During the summit, major roads within the delegation’s travel routes will be closed, with alternative routes planned to minimize inconvenience to the public. IG Rizvi reiterated the commitment of the Islamabad Police to use all available resources to provide foolproof security and uphold the country’s prestige during the international event.
