Islamabad Ramps Up Preparations for Upcoming SCO Summit

Islamabad: With the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit on the horizon, the capital is bustling with preparations to ensure the city showcases its best. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently inspected several key areas, including D-Chowk, Constitution Avenue, Murree Road, and the Islamabad Expressway, to oversee the ongoing renovation and cleanliness efforts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Naqvi directed the completion of all construction and renovation activities swiftly to enhance the federal capital’s aesthetics. He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, particularly along the VVIP routes and the Red Zone, and instructed the removal of any encroachments that could mar the city’s appearance.

During his visit, Naqvi stressed the significance of portraying Islamabad’s natural beauty for the SCO Summit and called for exemplary arrangements to accommodate the international delegates. Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa provided a detailed briefing to the Interior Minister about the progress of the construction and renovation work. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary Interior, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Deputy Commissioner, and other relevant officials.
