Islamabad Reports Significant Drop in Inflation to Four-Year Low

Islamabad: Pakistan has recorded a notable decrease in its inflation rate, which fell to 6.9 percent last month, marking the lowest level in four years. This decline reflects the impact of effective economic policies implemented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s administration.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows that the inflation rate decreased from 9.6 percent in August to 6.93 percent in September. This significant reduction is attributed to the price decreases in several essential commodities. Key edible items such as tomatoes, vegetables, flour, pulses, cooking oil, chicken, and bakery products saw marked price reductions, contributing to the overall decline in the inflation rate on a month-to-month basis by 0.5 percent.

This improvement in inflation dynamics indicates a positive shift in economic conditions, aligning with the government’s efforts to stabilize prices and bolster consumer purchasing power amid broader economic challenges.
