Javed Mir supports shutdown call on Manmohan’s IHK visit

Srinagar, June 21, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, liberation leader, Javed Ahmad Mir has endorsed the shutdown call given by the pro-freedom leadership on the visit of Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh to the territory.

Javed Ahmad in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Indian prime minister had said that human rights violations would not be tolerated but despite it massive right violations were being committed by Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory.

He also termed the statement of the Indian Home Minister over the annual Amarnath Yatra a political gimmick aimed at defaming peace-loving Kashmiris, He said: “For centuries, Amarnath Yatra has been going on in Kashmir. And the people of Kashmir have been extending full support for its successful completion. Even when our innocent youth were being massacred in 2008, 2009 and 2010, Kashmiris didn’t harm a single Yatree or a tourist.

The liberation leader said Congress has always deceived and misled the people of Kashmir with false slogans and promises for their vote bank politics. He said the Congress leadership frequently visits the Valley to create a wedge between the freedom-loving people.
