JKSM demands mortal remains of martyred Butt, Guru

Srinagar, May, 03 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, appealing to the world community to play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute, has said that the people of Kashmir will never get justice from Indian courts on human rights violations.

Zafar Akbar Butt while addressing a public gathering at Hayatpora in Chadoora, said that Kashmir was a political dispute, which should be resolved by giving the Kashmiris their right to self-determination. Pro-freedom slogans were shouted on the occasion.

The APHC leader said that durable peace in South Asia was impossible without the settlement of the long-pending dispute over Kashmir. He hailed the journalists in the territory who were discharging their professional duties under extremely difficult circumstances. He welcomed the United Nations Special Rapporteur, Rashida Manjoo’s statement on repeal of draconian laws from occupied Kashmir.

The JKSM Chairman also welcomed the Government of Pakistan’s decision to hand over the body of Indian spy, Sarabjit Singh, to the Government of India. He also demanded the return of mortal remains of Mohammad Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru from government of India to their family members.
