Journalists Report Intimidation and Violence Under BJP Administration: Yadav

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has voiced concerns over the treatment of journalists under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration, alleging that the party is employing tactics to undermine the morale of the press.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Yadav posted on X a video depicting a man being beaten and stripped by a group, asserting that such incidents are being used to threaten journalists.

In his statement, Yadav remarked, “Under BJP rule, journalists are facing extreme measures like threats, physical assault, unwarranted FIRs, and even monthly payments to those who yield to pressure.” He criticized these actions as efforts to dismantle the morale of the media, adding that “today’s media says, we don’t want BJP.”

The video has incited widespread discussion and concern regarding the safety and freedom of the press in India.
