Gwadar: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has announced significant reductions in tariff rates at Gwadar Port to strengthen its position as a competitive regional logistics and transshipment hub.
According to Radio Pakistan, the minister stated that berthing fees for container vessels and ships carrying transit or transshipment cargo have been reduced by 25 percent. Further reductions include a 40 percent slash in charges on international transshipment container cargo and a 31 percent cut in transit container cargo charges.
Additionally, Gwadar Port will offer one month of free storage for general cargo, significantly more than the standard five-day allowance at other national ports. Junaid Chaudhry emphasized that these measures are part of a broader strategy to transform Gwadar into a competitive, investor-friendly, and modern deep-sea port serving as a strategic gateway for trade.
