PM Shehbaz Sharif Implements Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Corruption

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the importance of utilizing all available resources for the capacity building of law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of citizens’ lives and property. He presided over a meeting focused on the country’s law and order situation and matters related to the Ministry of Interior.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister instructed a strict enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within the law enforcement agencies. He emphasized that all recruitments under the Ministry of Interior, including those in the Federal Investigation Agency, must be based on merit.

Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the need for personnel in law enforcement agencies to receive modern training and develop the necessary expertise to tackle contemporary security challenges. He called for the provision of state-of-the-art equipment, modern technology, and professional resources to enhance their capabilities.

The meeting was informed that the under-construction prison in Islamabad is expected to become operational by September this year. Additionally, the participants were briefed on the performance of various agencies under the Interior Ministry, including the FIA, Islamabad Police, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, Federal Constabulary, and Capital Development Authority.

The meeting also provided updates on upcoming development projects aimed at further strengthening the country’s infrastructure and security framework.
