Justice Yahya Afridi Takes Oath as Pakistan’s 30th Chief Justice

Islamabad: In a significant judicial appointment, Justice Yahya Afridi was sworn in as the 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan in a formal ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, with President Asif Ali Zardari administering the oath.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the event was marked by the presence of notable officials including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who both congratulated Justice Afridi on his elevation. Prime Minister Sharif commended Justice Afridi’s extensive legal experience and wisdom, expressing optimism that these qualities will steer the judiciary towards greater justice and reinforce the rule of law in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister also voiced confidence in Justice Afridi’s leadership, anticipating that the judiciary will maintain its integrity and continue to serve the public effectively under his tenure.
