Kalat: An expansive polio vaccination campaign is set to commence on October 28 in Kalat district, aiming to immunize 39,636 children across 19 union councils. The campaign, orchestrated by local health authorities and international partners, seeks to eradicate the polio virus from the region comprehensively.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Kalat, Flight Lieutenant Retired Bilal Shabbir, presided over a critical meeting with health officials and other department heads to finalize preparations. WHO representative Dr. Naseer Kurd provided a multimedia briefing on the severity of polio and the logistics of the upcoming campaign, highlighting the involvement of 209 health teams dedicated to vaccinating children up to five years old.
Deputy Commissioner Shabbir stressed the importance of the vaccine in preventing polio and ensuring a healthy future for all children in the district. He urged monitoring teams to ensure thorough execution of the campaign, emphasizing that no child should be left unvaccinated.
