Karachi Initiates Physical Verification of Government Vehicles to Ensure Resource Transparency

Karachi: Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced the launch of a comprehensive physical verification process for government vehicles and fuel-powered machinery used by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to ensure the transparent and efficient use of public resources.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the verification, which began on October 22 and will continue until November 20, will cover 600 vehicles and motorcycles assigned to KMC officers and staff, as well as 430 service vehicles, including generators and other machinery. The initiative spans several KMC departments, including Parks, Fire Brigade, Engineering, Municipal Services, and Anti-Encroachment.

Mayor Wahab emphasized that any vehicles not presented for inspection during the process will have their monthly fuel supply halted. He stressed the importance of cooperation from all departments and noted that the verification would have positive financial impacts for KMC, enhancing the overall efficiency and service delivery of the corporation.
