Karachi’s Road Infrastructure Undergoes Major Overhaul with $2 Billion Investment

Karachi: Repair work on major roads in Karachi is advancing rapidly as part of a $2 billion initiative. The development projects, overseen by Karamullah Waqasi under the guidance of Mayor Murtaza Wahab, include extensive road carpeting and street light repairs across the city.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the efforts are aligned with the vision of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to provide relief to citizens. Key thoroughfares such as MA Jinnah Road, Rashid Minhas Road, and Sharia Faisal are undergoing significant improvements. Mayor Wahab has also launched a task force to address the issue of substandard meat in the city.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced plans to integrate 500 electric buses into Karachi’s transport network and has directed the completion of a transport feasibility study. The urban development projects extend beyond road repairs, with initiatives aimed at alleviating water shortages and enhancing sewage systems. Parks are also being revitalized under the mayor’s leadership, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to urban renewal.
