Karachi’s Vital Road Link Completed, Boosting Economic Activities

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has completed a critical road connecting district South Karachi to Keamari district, a project hailed as a major boon for the city’s residents, fishermen, and oil marketing companies. Essential for the transportation of oil from the Keamari Oil Terminal to the rest of Pakistan, the road also serves as a significant hub for the fish market.

According to a statement by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the road construction, from Mauripur Town to Saddar Town, was completed at a cost of over 134 million rupees. The project was undertaken by the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and aligns with the vision of its chairman, Bilawal Bhutto, to work for the welfare of all citizens. The road’s inauguration was attended by prominent city officials, including Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, and other city council members.

Mayor Wahab remarked that the completion of the road represents a new beginning for the city. He emphasized the importance of the project by highlighting the previous traffic congestion issues and noted the swift execution of the construction plan based on local suggestions. The road is expected to significantly aid the fishing industry and improve the transportation of oil across the country.

He further asserted that all PPP members, including those in city and national positions, are dedicated to improving Karachi through such development initiatives. The completion of the road is seen as a step forward in promoting the fishing industry and enhancing the oil supply process, thus benefiting the national economy.

Mayor Wahab added that under the PPP’s leadership, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is committed to equal-paced development across all city districts. He assured that citizens would witness extensive progress throughout the year, with efforts continuing to address urban challenges efficiently.
