Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry while talking to a delegation of Occupied Kashmir Journalists Association (OKJA), an organization of journalists belonging to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, at Kashmir House in Islamabad, said that on August 5, 2019, India not only abolished the special status of IIOJK but after that 4.5 million non-Kashmiris were issued domiciles of the territory.

He said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to impose a Hindu chief minister on the occupied territory under the guise of delimitation and is demolishing the houses of Kashmiri people in the name of anti-encroachment campaign. It is evicting them from their lands and depriving them of their properties, he added. He said the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has a firm stand on the Kashmir dispute that the Kashmiri people should be given their right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations resolutions. The OIC Secretary General himself has a personal interest in the solution of the Kashmir dispute, while the United States and Europe also want a peaceful settlement of the lingering dispute, he added.

The AJK President said the Kashmiri people are struggling for securing their birth right to self-determination and India is using Kashmiri women as a weapon of war. “We appreciate the struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, fighting hard to end the illegal occupation of a usurper. Barrister Sultan said that he was happy to know that the journalists of IIOJK are working in the mainstream media here and are playing their full role in highlighting the Kashmir dispute.
