Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through UN resolutions

Manchester, July 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Member of the British Parliament and Shadow Minister for Justice Afzal Khan has said that the Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through United Nations resolutions. Afzal Khan was speaking at a luncheon in Manchester he hosted in honour of president of global think tank Institute of Peace and Development INSPAD Dr Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum.

He said the whole world has become aware of the atrocities and serious violations of human rights by the Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the international organizations and peace-loving nations should take action against them. He said India and Pakistan should start the process of negotiations and the real party, Kashmiris, should also be included in it. The long-standing disputes of Kashmir and Palestine must be resolved immediately so that permanent peace could be established in the world, he added.

Speaking on this occasion, Sardar Tahir Tabassum said there is an urgent need to start dialogue between India and Pakistan on Kashmir. “Our organization, INSPAD, is making serious efforts for cooperation and a high-level global coordination committee will be established soon,” he maintained. INSPAD Overseas Liaison Committee Chairman Chaudhry Jahangir Khan Pothi said that efforts will be made for initiation of dialogue between India and Pakistan for settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

Haji Chaudhry Mohammad Asghar Pothi, head of Pothi family, senior leader of Muslim Conference Chaudhry Bashir Ratvi, prominent Kashmiri leader Syed Hussain Shaheed Sarwar Advocate and social figure Raja Arif Jamroz Khan attended the luncheon.
