Kashmiris don’t want to live with India: Ali Raza Syed

Brussels, June 22, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Kashmir Council EU, Chairman Ali Raza Syed, has said that ongoing mass movement in occupied Kashmir is strong evidence that Kashmiris don not want to live with India.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels was commenting on the plans of extremist Hindu organizations Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party of celebrating the 23rd June as a day of integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India.

The Kashmir Council EU chairman expressed complete solidarity with people of Kashmir particularly the leaders and workers on the eve of ‘Quit Kashmir campaign’ in response to so-called day of integration with India.

Kashmir has been occupied by India for last six decades and people of Kashmir are struggling for freedom from the occupation, he added. Ali Raza Syed said, Kashmiris don’t want to live under Indian constitution because they are struggling for their right of self-determination which was promised to them by New Delhi more than six decades ago.

Ali Raza Syed also condemned recent detention of leaders and workers opposing the Indian occupation. India should give them right of self-determination in order to allow them to decide their fate under a plebiscite supervised by United Nations.
