Kashmiris in Geneva hold demonstration against HR abuses in IHK

Srinagar, June 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): The members of Kashmiri delegation held a demonstration against continued atrocities and gross human rights violations committed by Indian armed forces in occupied Kashmir outside the United Nations Office in Geneva.

On the sidelines of the 23rd session of United Nations Human Rights Council, Kashmiri delegates including Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl, Altaf Hussain Wani, Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Ishtiyaq Hameed,

Mrs Shamim Shawl, Sardar Amjad Yousaf and others condemning India’s rigid policies on Kashmir urged India to fulfill its promise with the people Kashmir about right to self-determination.

The speakers demanded an impartial investigation into all human rights violations as recommended by United Nations Special Rapporteur on extra judicial killings in his report presented to the council recently.

The protest demonstration was also joined by people hailing from different walks of life. They were holding placards demanding an end to human rights abuses, torture, extra judicial killings, enforced disappearance and molestations in occupied Kashmir.
