Karachi: President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Junaid Naqi, recently met with Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi, the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Karachi, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and promoting transparency in financial dealings between Pakistan and the UAE.
In their discussions, both leaders underscored the importance of bolstering the existing economic ties. Naqi emphasized the need for utilizing formal trade channels to ensure transparency and build investor confidence. He also pointed out opportunities for significant growth in trade volume, contingent on adherence to ethical business practices and international standards.
“We want Pakistani traders to use formal avenues for trade so that Pakistan’s global image improves and investors feel more secure,” Naqi stated.
Dr. Al-Remeithi reassured the Pakistani business community of the UAE’s commitment to supporting Pakistani investors and stressed the need for a formal and transparent trade framework to foster long-term economic collaboration.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to explore new trade opportunities, promote the exchange of business delegations, and organize joint commercial events to inject new energy into bilateral economic relations. Both parties also concurred on initiating joint efforts to enhance trade between Pakistan and the UAE in the near future.
