Punjab CM Launches Environmental Protection Force in Lahore

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz today launched the province’s first Environmental Protection Force during a grand passing-out parade in Lahore.

According to Radio Pakistan, the ceremony marked a key step in the government’s mission to tackle pollution and safeguard natural resources and the environment. The newly trained Vigilance Squad of the force presented a ceremonial salute to the Chief Minister, symbolizing the commencement of their duties.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that the government is moving towards a zero waste policy and that the operation of the force will be expanded to ensure its effectiveness. This initiative is seen as crucial in addressing environmental challenges facing the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Punjab Senior Maryam Aurangzeb described it as a timely and visionary initiative by the Chief Minister, highlighting the administration’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.
