Sialkot Chamber Hosts Delegation to Strengthen Business-Government Synergy

Sialkot: The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently welcomed a delegation of Civil Officers from the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Islamabad, underscoring ongoing efforts to improve governance and enhance the business environment in Pakistan.

The meeting commenced with remarks from Mr. Ikram ul Haq, President of the Sialkot Chamber, who praised NIPA for its commitment to enhancing the skills of government officials.

The discussions focused on the government’s role in facilitating a business-friendly environment. Participants deliberated on policy measures aimed at simplifying business operations and attracting investment.

Key topics raised included the Final Tax Regime, Export Facilitation Scheme, and the need for a Ministry of Foreign Affairs Desk in Sialkot. The absence of adequate security for Chinese visitors and the development of the Sialkot Industrial Zone were also highlighted as areas requiring government attention to bolster the region’s export sector.

The visit offered the delegation a comprehensive look at SCCI’s projects and market intelligence initiatives. This exchange has set the stage for future collaboration between the government and Sialkot’s business community, aimed at fostering a supportive business ecosystem in the country.
