Karachi, November 29, 2012 (PPI-OT): PPP leader and acting Sindh Governor, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has feared that Lahore High Court’s decision on controversial Kalabagh Dam will fuel infighting among the provinces.
In a statement issued here on Thursday he said that the impact of the judgment will not only destroy unity of the people of the Pakistan but also pave way for dictatorships in the country.
He said that the three provincial assemblies had already unanimously rejected the controversial project, and the chapter of the Kalabagh Dam was closed. But, he added, the LHC’s decision has bulldozed opinion of the three assemblies, which they cannot do.
Khuhro demanded the Supreme Court to set aside the LHC’s judgment in larger interest of the country. He also asked the PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif to get a resolution passed against the Kalabagh Dam project to make clear his policy about the controversial project upon smaller provinces.
