Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Development Working Party meets under Additional Chief Secretary

Peshawar, February 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was held under the chairmanship of Khalid Pervez, The Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the P and D Department on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by the Administrative Secretaries and senior staff of P and D, Finance, Environment, C and W, LG and RD, Industries, Transport, Relief and Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Transport, Agriculture, Police and Health Departments.

The Provincial Development Working Party’s (PDWP) while considering *42 *development projects, approved 24 schemes with an estimated cost about Rs. 7468.599 million including foreign aid of Rs. 594.320 million for the Establishment of Urban Policy Unit.

Approval of six projects was deferred till next PDWP meeting whereas 12 sub projects of the compact scheme i.e. Special Development Support for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police were referred to the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) as these fall in the ambit of DDWP.

Six projects were deferred with the direction to further improve the projects’ documents and remove the deficiencies to ensure smooth and timely execution of the projects. It is appropriate to mention that meetings of the PDWP are being held fortnightly to facilitate the departments for early approval of their projects.

The approved projects included Feasibility Study for replacement of Ayubia Chair lift at a cost of Rs. 24.46 million on the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis, Construction of 5 Rescue 1122 stations at Mardan at a cost of Rs. 140.049 million, Rehabilitation of existing old water supply schemes in KP at a cost of Rs. 1.00 billion, Construction of water Supply scheme in KP at a cost of Rs. 2.00 billion, Sanitation schemes in KP at a cost of Rs. 1.500 billion, Construction of Bridge on Dagai Khwar Nowshera at a cost of Rs. 75.386 million, mayar-Asmar Road Dir Lower at a cost of Rs. 126.086 million, GCMS at DIKhan at a cost of Rs. 235.341 million, GCMS at Kulachi DIKhan at a cost of Rs. 185.797 million, GTVC(women) DIKhan at a cost of R. 74.140 million, Dairy Colony DIkhan at a cost of Rs. 135.935 million, Demarcation of forest in Hazara and Sothern region at a cost of Rs. 65 million, Computerization of Rout Permit at a cost of Rs. 83.947 million and Establishment of PFI Research and Training Station Kalam at a cost of Rs. 60.500 million and 6 sub projects of Police Lines and Police stations under the Umbrella project i.e. Special Development Support for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.

The PDWP also approved four numbers of PC-II for hiring of consultants for infrastructure projects under Roads, Health and Industries sector at a cost of Rs. 31.195 million. The project for enhanced HIV/Aids control programme was partially approved up to the extent of salaries and drugs.
