Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to launch e-transfer policy for college teachers

Peshawar, The Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to implement a new electronic transfer (e-transfer) policy for teachers across all colleges in the province. This initiative, aimed at addressing teacher shortages in remote areas and ensuring transparency in assignments, is a significant shift from traditional transfer methods.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the e-transfer policy, as outlined by Provincial Chief Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi, will facilitate the transfer of teachers based on their domicile, ensuring that educators are placed in schools within their district or region. This approach is expected to help alleviate the concentration of teaching staff in urban centers and redistribute them more evenly across the province, particularly in underserved areas.

Minister Afridi emphasized that the e-transfer system is designed to operate on a non-political basis, with the goal of reducing the financial burdens currently placed on colleges due to additional recruitment needed in remote areas. By reassigning teachers to their native areas, the policy also aims to enhance their effectiveness and comfort, potentially improving educational outcomes.

Further, the introduction of this digital policy is expected to bring greater transparency to the transfer process and boost public confidence in the allocation of educational resources. The provincial government has committed to not interfere in the automated system, underscoring its commitment to fair and efficient educational administration.
