Kupwara Residents Protest Against Poor Infrastructure

Srinagar: Residents of Karnah, in the Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, have launched protests against what they perceive as neglect by the authorities under the current administration.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protests were sparked by the deteriorating road conditions in the Tangdar area, which include deep potholes, excessive sand and dust, and the absence of necessary protective barriers along the roadsides. These issues have not only become a nuisance but also a danger, leading to frequent traffic accidents that threaten the safety of the community.

The community’s demands are focused on the urgent need for blacktopping of the roads and the construction of safety walls to enhance road safety and prevent further casualties. Their grievances underscore the challenges of navigating through severely compromised infrastructure, which has also hindered economic activities and daily commuting in the area.
