Lahore, July 25, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Wednesday announced a donation of three million rupees to Hijaz Hospital for setting up state-of-the-art new wards in the hospital.
The announcement was made by the LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh during the LCCI Executive Committee’s visit to the Hospital.
The LCCI Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher, Vice President Saeeda Nazar, Executive Committee Members Sh Mohammad Arshad, Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, Fahimur Rehman Saigol, wajid Choudhry, Mehmood Ghaznavi, Sheikh Mohammad Ayub, Tahir M Sheikh and former LCCI President Mian Anjum Nisar were also present on the occasion.
The LCCI delegation was received by Chairman Hijaz Hospital haji Inam Ellahi Asr, President Hijaz Hospital Haji sohail Iqbal Vohra, Begum Nasreen Hanif and former LCCI President Salahuddin Ahmad Sahaf.
The LCCI President said that the Lahore Chamber of commerce and Industry would also hold a fund raising dinner and 20 per cent of the funds generated would again be donated to the Hijaz Hospital.
While appreciating the facilities being offered hospital to the less privileged class of the society, the LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that the Lahore Chamber would be motivating the other philanthropists to contribute generously for the cause of the poor and have-nots. The LCCI President also lauded the services of the Chairman Hijaz hospital for the ailing humanity.
He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would continue to serve the ailing humanity as the business community considers itself duty-bound to serve the poor and the needy.
In his address the Chairman Hijaz Hospital Haji Inam Ellahi Asr threw light on working of the hospital and its background. He also thanked the LCCI office-bearers and the Executive Committee of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the donation to the hospital. He said that this gesture would go a long way and motivate more and more people to come forward and help the ailing humanity.
He informed the LCCI delegation that they were planning to expand hospital services by adding new wards to the existing facility while a totally separate male ward and Gynae wards are also part of the expansion plan.
