Islamabad: Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, has paid tribute to the unwavering struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Rana Qasim Noon in a special message on Kashmir Solidarity Day reaffirmed that Pakistan’s parliament and people stand firmly with the Kashmiri freedom movement. He emphasized that the Kashmir dispute remains an unfinished agenda of the partition of the subcontinent and that sustainable peace in the region is impossible without its resolution. He highlighted that Kashmiris have made unparalleled sacrifices for the last 77 years in their quest for freedom.
Rana Qasim Noon reiterated Pakistan’s full support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle and stressed the urgent need to resolve the issue in accordance with UN resolutions. He condemned India’s actions of August 5, 2019, stating that they were an assault on the fundamental rights of Kashmiris and a violation of democratic principles.
The chairman urged the United Nations to ensure the implementation of its Security Council resolutions on Kashmir. He remarked that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will be recorded in history with golden words and expressed confidence that the day is not far when the dawn of freedom will rise over IIOJK.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s parliament, government, and people will continue their moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri cause.
