Islamabad: UNESCO and PTV Home have announced the upcoming launch of their collaborative documentary series, “Heritage in Young Hands,” which focuses on Pakistan’s cultural heritage and the pivotal role of youth in its preservation. The series is set to premiere on Saturday, November 9, 2024, and will air weekly on PTV Home at 6 p.m. A formal launch ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Media Resource Centre, PTV Headquarters in Islamabad.
According to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the documentary series comprises ten episodes, each aiming to highlight the diverse cultural heritage of Pakistan. It underscores the importance of involving young people in efforts to safeguard this heritage as part of sustainable development initiatives. The launch event will feature key figures such as Mr. Sayyed Mubashar Tauqir Shah, Managing Director PTV and Additional Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Mr. Antony Kar Hung Tam, Officer-in-Charge of the UNESCO Office in Pakistan; and Mr. Saif Ud Din, Director Programs, PTV Home.
