Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced plans to launch a pilot project to establish a Law Enforcement Investigation Centre in Islamabad, modeled after a similar system in China.
According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi made these remarks during a meeting with Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who have recently returned after completing training courses in China and Turkiye. The proposed Law Enforcement Centre aims to consolidate detention, investigation, and summary trials into a single facility, facilitating swift resolution of cases involving minor crimes.
The Interior Minister also revealed plans to enhance the Aviation Wing of the Ministry of Interior with advanced drones for improved crime prevention and surveillance. Furthermore, Naqvi stated that specialized investigation rooms would be developed at the National Police Academy to bolster investigative capabilities.
In addition, Naqvi announced that international training programs will be institutionalized as a permanent component of the professional development strategy for police officers, emphasizing the importance of continued international collaboration and education for law enforcement personnel.
