Living Indus Initiative ranked among UN’s flagship programmes

The Living Indus Initiative, intended to restore 30 percent of the River Indus by 2030, has been named as one of the seven United Nations World Restoration Flagships.

According to a news release, Government of Pakistan’s Living Indus initiative is making efforts to protect and restore Indus Basin, which has been rapidly degrading.

The World Restoration Flagship awards are part of the UN Decade on Ecosystem which aims to prevent, halt, and reverse the degradation of ecosystems on every continent and in every ocean.
