Malaysian Prime Minister Concludes Official Visit to Pakistan, Advances Bilateral Relations

Islamabad: Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim concluded a three-day official visit to Pakistan, where he engaged in significant bilateral discussions aimed at enhancing trade and cooperation between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dato’ Seri Anwar was seen off by his Pakistani counterpart, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, at the Nur Khan airbase. The visit underscored long-standing fraternal ties, with both leaders agreeing to strengthen relations further. The discussions culminated in multiple agreements, including enhancements in trade and cooperation in sectors such as information technology and electric vehicle production.

During his stay, Anwar met with top Pakistani officials and was honored at a grand reception at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. He also attended the Pakistan-Malaysia Business Forum, which focused on promoting trade and expanding job opportunities in Pakistan through increased exports and simplified trade processes.

Additionally, President Asif Ali Zardari awarded Anwar the Nishan-e-Pakistan, the country’s highest civilian honor, in recognition of his efforts to foster closer ties between Malaysia and Pakistan.
