Man Killed in Sopore Over Land Dispute with Cousin

Srinagar: In a tragic incident in Tarzoo village, Sopore, Baramulla district, a 62-year-old man lost his life following a violent confrontation stemming from a land dispute with his cousin. The altercation, which originated from a heated argument, escalated to physical violence, resulting in the man’s death.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, identified as Khazir Mohammad Malik of Astan Mohalla Tarzoo, was urgently taken to a local healthcare facility after the scuffle. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival. In the wake of the incident, local police swiftly took action by registering an FIR under case number 89/2024 at Police Station Amargrah. The accused cousin was arrested shortly thereafter, and an official confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
