Martyrdom Anniversary of APHC Leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz Observed

Srinagar: The 17th martyrdom anniversary of senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz was observed on Monday. Sheikh Abdul Aziz was martyred by Indian troops on this day in 2008 in the Uri area of Baramulla district while leading a massive march against an economic blockade of Kashmir Valley imposed by BJP-RSS and Dogra groups in Jammu.

According to Radio Pakistan, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to the senior martyred All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on his martyrdom anniversary. Meanwhile, Indian troops continued violent cordon and search operations in Kulgam and Kishtwar districts, with the siege in Kulgam’s Akhal area entering its 12th consecutive day.

Indian authorities have sealed all entry and exit points. Reports indicate that the Indian Army is constructing permanent pickets across the Pir Panchal range, while in Kishtwar’s Dool area, additional forces have been deployed.
