Martyrs of Kupwara massacre remembered

Srinagar, January 27, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the victims of Kupwara massacre on their 22nd anniversary, today. Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed and Bilal Siddiqui in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that the mass killing of innocent people in occupied Kashmir had exposed the real face of Indian democracy.

They also eulogised the sacrifice of a youth, Mushtaq Ahmad Haroon, who was killed by Indian troops in Kokernag, yesterday. The leaders maintained that the Kashmiri people would continue their liberation struggle till it reached its logical conclusion.

The Patron of JKLF-R, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, in his statement lamented that even after the passage of 22 years of Kupwara massacre, the culprits were roaming free while the relatives of the victims were desperately moving from pillar to post to seek justice. He said that the Kashmiris would not allow the sacrifices of their martyrs go waste and would accomplish their mission at all costs.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that with the killing of civilians in Kupwara, the Indian forces had added another black spot on the so-called democratic credentials of India. He deplored that the troops involved in this barbaric human tragedy had neither been brought to the book nor had been justice delivered to the victim families, so far. Hurriyet leader, Firdous Ahmad Shah, in a statement in Srinagar also paid homage to the martyrs of Kupwara massacre.
