Pakistani Envoy Discusses Safety of Nationals with Kyrgyz Officials

Bishkek, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Hassan Zaigham, held a crucial meeting with Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Imangaziev Almaz today, focusing on the recent violence in Bishkek and its impact on Pakistani nationals, particularly students.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting, Ambassador Zaigham emphasized the importance of the safety of Pakistani students and their families in Kyrgyzstan. He urged the Kyrgyz government to take immediate and effective measures to ensure their protection amid the unrest.

Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz informed the ambassador that the situation in Bishkek has stabilized and is now under control. He detailed the security measures in place, including police protection at student hostels, and mentioned that the matter is receiving direct attention from the Kyrgyz President. Almaz also assured that legal actions are being prepared against those responsible for the attacks, which affected several foreign nationals, including Pakistanis. While most have been treated and discharged, one Pakistani remains hospitalized.

This diplomatic engagement highlights the ongoing efforts to secure the safety of international students and expatriates in volatile situations abroad.
