Mayor of Karachi Orders Suspension of Official Over Delays at Cricket Ground

Karachi: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has expressed severe displeasure over the lack of progress on development work at Sangam Cricket Ground in Federal B Area, leading to the suspension of the concerned Deputy Director. He emphasized that hindrances to Karachi’s development will not be tolerated and pledged to restore and improve parks and sports grounds for public use.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Mayor declared that the new year marks a period of development for Karachi, with a focus on reviving the city’s vibrancy and providing opportunities for youth to engage in sports. The Mayor highlighted that the delayed development work at Sangam Cricket Ground was part of the ADP scheme, designed to promote sports activities and nurture local talent.

Mayor Wahab further stated that efforts are underway to enhance Karachi’s basic infrastructure through strategic initiatives, with an equal focus on development projects across all districts. He assured that more comprehensive development work is planned for the city in the coming year, aiming to offer better recreational facilities to the public and promote sports at the grassroots level.
