MCB DCF Income Fund Records Impressive Half-Year Earnings

Karachi, MCB Investment Management Limited, the entity behind the management of MCB DCF Income Fund, has released its financial outcomes for the half-year concluding on December 31, 2023. During a crucial meeting held at their Karachi office on February 2, 2024, the company’s Board of Directors examined and approved these results, marking a significant phase of financial growth for the fund.

The fund has reported a substantial income, amounting to Rs. 1,153,510 thousand for the half-year, marking a notable increase from Rs. 415,303 thousand in the same period the previous year. The income spanned various sources, including government securities, term finance certificates, net loss on sale of investments, markup on bank and term deposits, income on placements, and unrealized gains in fair value of investments classified as ‘at fair value through profit or loss,’ in addition to other income.

Operational expenses for the reported period were tallied at Rs. 121,714 thousand, encompassing the remuneration of MCB Investment Management Limited as the Management Company, Sindh Sales Tax on remuneration, allocated expenses, selling and marketing expenses, remuneration of the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited as Trustee, and other associated costs.

After the deduction of operational expenses, the fund achieved a net income before taxation of Rs. 1,023,796 thousand for the half-year period, maintaining the same impressive figure after taxation. This showcases the fund’s successful investment strategy and operational efficiency, contributing to a solid financial performance.

The fund’s comprehensive approach to income generation and expense management has led to significant earnings, highlighting its strength in delivering value to its investors. The announcement also includes details of the allocation of net income for the period, with a substantial portion of income already paid on units redeemed, signifying a proactive approach to rewarding investors.
