Measures to be taken for uplifting of Civic Center: Administrator Karachi

Karachi, February 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has said that Traffic Improvement Plan should be prepared for Civic Center in which separate places should be allocated for parking whereas measures should be taken for uplifting of Civic Center.
He said this while directing departmental heads of Engineering and Transport and Communication Departments. On this occasion Director General Engineering Department Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Sr. Director Transport and Communication Muhammad Ather and other officers were also present.

He said that a good number of citizens visit Civic Center for their various works whereas the offices of Sindh Building Control Authority, Excise and Taxation, KESC and other departments also exist here due to which vehicles were parked around Civic Center in worse manner which affects traffic on university road.

He said that separate parking was made near central offices in whole world whereas central office of any organization shows its performance. Administrator Karachi directed that only those vehicles should be allowed to park on first floor of Civic Center which have been given parking permission here otherwise strict action would be taken against relevant department.

He also said that arrangements of cleanliness should be made around Civic Center. Officers of the departments were responsible for cleanliness condition in the offices. They should take measures for cleanliness and renovation in their offices so that employees working there could get better environment.

He said that security arrangements were improved in central office however it should be enhanced more. Parking of motorcycles on various locations here would also be banned and separate parking place would be allocated for them.
