Meeting of Secretary Trade Development Authority of Pakistan with President of Pakistan France Business Alliance

Karachi, September 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) needs to forge stronger business alliance with Pakistan France Business Alliance (PFBA) and TDAP to extend its full cooperation to PFBA for increasing the trade between Pakistan and France. This was stated by Ms. Rabiya Javeri Agha, Secretary TDAP while talking to Mr. Jamil Hamdani, President of PFBA and other members who called on Secretary in her office on 26th of August 2013.

To strengthen the business relations, both the organizations could ink an MoU to assist the business houses and arranging B2B meetings with French exhibitors in Gulfood in Dubai representing the products of agro-food, dairy, bakery, prepared food, meat and fish based food products.

Secretary TDAP emphasized on the strategic and dynamic role of TDAP in facilitating the business community to achieve their export targets. She appreciated the efforts of PFBA in raising awareness and establishing valuable B2B contacts between the two trading partners.

PFBA members highlighted that bilateral trade has reached almost Euro 1 billion mark and its in favour of Pakistan—which exported Euro 482 million, while imports have reached at 355 million respectively. Textile and leather articles represent 80% of Pakistan’s exports to France, which is the 5th major client in Europe. Moreover, Pakistan is the 2nd export destination for France in South Asia.
