Karachi: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s leading Islamic bank, has introduced a Foreign Currency (FCY) Debit Card specifically designed for exporters and freelancers who maintain an Exporters’ Special Foreign Currency Account (ESFCA) with the bank. This new offering aims to simplify international transactions by providing seamless access to funds and payments worldwide.
According to a statement by Meezan Bank Limited, the FCY Debit Card is powered by Mastercard and accepted globally, allowing users to manage their business dealings abroad with ease. The card enables account holders to make payments at retail outlets worldwide without requiring prior approval from the State Bank of Pakistan.
The FCY Debit Card also allows users to withdraw cash from Mastercard ATMs worldwide and track spending in real time. It facilitates cross-border payments and comes equipped with 3D Secure technology for added protection during e-commerce transactions. The contactless payment feature, enabled by NFC technology, further enhances convenience for cardholders.
Syed Iftikhar ul Haq, Group Head – Consumer Finance at Meezan Bank, stated that the introduction of the FCY Debit Card is part of the bank’s commitment to empowering Pakistani exporters and freelancers with advanced financial tools. The card is designed to streamline payment processes, providing a secure method for managing international transactions.
Arslan Khan, Country Manager for Mastercard in Pakistan, emphasized the significance of this partnership, noting that it underscores a commitment to offering innovative payment solutions that address the needs of exporters and freelancers in Pakistan.
