Mehbooba Mufti Advocates for Resolution of Kashmir Issue, Protection of Article 370

Srinagar: Mehbooba Mufti, president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has reiterated the need to resolve the Kashmir conflict and protect Article 370, challenging the BJP’s approach towards these longstanding issues.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a press statement from Srinagar, Mufti criticized the BJP’s attempts to diminish the Kashmir issue and the protections afforded by Article 370. She asserted her party’s participation in the upcoming Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) assembly elections as a countermeasure to prevent the BJP from disregarding these critical matters. Mufti also highlighted the prolonged delay in election organization as a sign of the BJP’s mismanagement, expressing the local populace’s frustration with the current situation.

Responding to comments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis, Mufti questioned the BJP’s failure to fulfill its past promises, including those of economic deposit and job creation, positioning her party as a voice for the people’s concerns and rights in the region.
