PM Sharif Highlights Commitment to Ozone Preservation on World Ozone Day

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s dedication to preserving the ozone layer, essential for protecting life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation. His statement coincided with the observance of World Ozone Day.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister detailed Pakistan’s efforts since ratifying the Montreal Protocol in 1992, including the establishment of a National Ozone Unit in 1996. He expressed confidence that Pakistan would achieve a 67.5 percent reduction in substances harmful to the ozone layer by next year, citing the transition to ozone-friendly technologies in various industries.

Sharif emphasized that these efforts reflect Pakistan’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
