Srinagar, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has urged voters in Jammu and Kashmir to use their electoral power to oppose the abrogation of Article 370, emphasizing the need to convey this message directly to the Indian Parliament.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a rally in Kulgam’s DK Marg, Mehbooba highlighted the importance of each vote in reaching the country’s lawmakers and making a clear statement against the BJP’s actions on August 5, 2019. She articulated that the decision to revoke Article 370 must be reversed “at all costs.”
Mehbooba also expressed concerns over any potential delays in the upcoming elections for the south Kashmir constituency, stressing that elections should not be postponed due to adverse weather a practice not observed elsewhere in the country.
In her speech, Mehbooba shared personal grievances post the revocation of Article 370, including the confiscation of passports belonging to her and her family members, and various forms of personal and political betrayal she endured. Despite these challenges, she affirmed her commitment to her stance, bolstered by significant local support.
