Islamabad, June 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): Met-Office predicted onset of monsoon rains in the country from 29th June and this spell will persist for 02 to 03 days. The spell is mainly focused on upper parts of the country.
Spokesman of Met Office informed that weak monsoon currents have started penetrating in Kashmir and other upper parts of the country that may produce isolated rain/thundershowers in Kashmir, Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Lahore and Gujranwala divisions) and KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and D I Khan divisions) during next 02 to 03 days, while isolated dust-thundershowers is also expected in Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan Bannu, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.
A westerly wave is expected to enter in northern parts of the country on Thursday evening. Due to the interaction of monsoon currents and westerly wave, rains/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected in upper KP (Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar divisions), Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Lahore and Gujranwala divisions), GB-Kashmir and Islamabad from Thursday (evening) to Sunday.
