Minister Raza Haroon visit Banaras Chowk

Karachi: Provincial minister for I.T Raza Haroon along with ANP leader Bashir Jan visited Banaras Chowk on Saturday. They were accompanied by Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman and officers of city and town administration.

During the visit minister Raza Haroon inspected development works carried out at Banaras Chowk.

On this occasion he said by joining all entities in Karachi, effective steps were being taken for restoration of peace and making Karachi a neat and clean city.

Ongoing campaign for removal of banners, flags and posters in city initiated with cooperation of all three parties had pinpointed that all these parties desired progress and cleanliness in city.

Development works of Banaras Chowk Flyover should be completed as soon as possible so that the difficulties faced by the people could remove.

ANP leader Bashir Jan said no party in Karachi wants to disturb peace in city.

He also stressed the need of acceleration in development works including Banaras Chowk Flyover.

Provincial Minister Raza Haroon said peace in Karachi was restoring due to the efforts of President Asif Ali Zardari, Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain and ANP leader Asfand Yar Wali. With the restoration of peace, cleanliness condition would also improve in city.

Raza Haroon said delay in construction of flyover at Banaras Chowk had resulted in problems for people; and now this project requires full attention.

He directed Administrator and DCO Karachi to watch over works being carrying out here and ensure continuation of work in two shifts so that this project could complete as early as possible.

Regarding cleanliness works in city, he said the campaign was aimed at presenting a beautiful look of city before the world as well as solving the problems of people who had been suffering due to accumulation of rain water in their areas.

He said we want to devise such a system where in all the garbage produced in city was dispatched to landfill site instead of dumping this waste in sewage lines and storm water drains.

During the visit, area people, informed the provincial minister about their problems when he along with ANP leader Bashir Jan reached Orangi Town and Kati Pahari.

The minister on this occasion directed administration to setup police kiosks wherever these were needed and provide security to people so that the street crimes could overcome.

Raza Haroon also directed administrators of Orangi, SITE and N. Nazimabad Town to carry out cleaning work jointly in those areas of Orangi Town where in past such works could not be done due to lack of interest.

Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman on this occasion directed EDO W and S to complete the development work of Banaras Chowk within 3 months. He also warned disciplinary action against the officers found guilty of committing negligence or carelessness in work.
