MMU Condemns Blasphemous Remarks, Calls for Arrest of Narsinghanand

The Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has condemned the blasphemous remarks made by Narsinghanand about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The MMU has demanded his immediate arrest and the cancellation of his bail, stating that such offensive statements are unacceptable and a deliberate attempt to provoke communal violence. According to Kashmir Media Service, the MMU, in a statement from Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted concerns about Narsinghanand’s history as a hate monger, emphasizing the need for law enforcement to maintain communal harmony by holding him accountable. The group reiterated the importance of respecting religious figures and ensuring that such offenders are prosecuted. The MMU comprises various religious organizations, including Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid, Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Jamat-i-Islami, and many others. Meanwhile, Grand Mufti of IIOJK, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, also condemned the remarks, calling for immediate legal actio
n against Narsinghanand to prevent further incidents of hate speech.
