Karachi: Mobilink Bank, a prominent digital microfinance institution in Pakistan, has received four awards at the 9th Annual Microfinance Conference (AMC-9), highlighting its efforts in digital innovation and financial inclusion.
The event, themed “Renaissance of Microfinance,” acknowledged Mobilink Bank as a leader in several categories. These included the top spot for active borrowers of nano-loans, leadership in M-Wallets via JazzCash, and recognition for innovation in microfinance. The bank was also honored for its significant role in increasing women borrowers.
Aamir Ibrahim, Chairman of Mobilink Bank, commented on the accolades, stating the awards emphasize the impact of financial inclusion through technology. He highlighted the bank’s efforts, in conjunction with JazzCash, to empower Pakistanis, especially women, by integrating them into the formal economy.
Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, expressed pride in the recognition, noting it underscores the bank’s dedication to innovation and inclusion. He detailed the bank’s daily disbursement of over 150,000 nano-loans, supporting underserved communities across the country.
Mobilink Bank reports over 8.2 million active nano-loan borrowers and total disbursements exceeding PKR 45.9 billion. JazzCash, its digital financial services platform, serves 53.5 million wallet holders, with a third being women.
The AMC-9 conference, organized by the Pakistan Microfinance Network in association with UNIDO-PAIDAR, brought together regulators like the State Bank of Pakistan, development partners, and industry innovators.
As the microfinance sector evolves with a focus on technology and inclusion, Mobilink Bank remains committed to advancing digital financial solutions and empowering women in Pakistan.
