Mobilink expands biometric verification system network to cover 300 cities across Pakistan

Lahore, August 25, 2014 (PPI-OT): Mobilink launches the largest biometric verification system across Pakistan. As per directives of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) no SIM can be sold or activated without biometric verification of the customer. According to the BVS policy, customers now have to verify their identity via thumb impression. In order to provide maximum coverage, Mobilink has deployed 9,405 BVS devices all across Pakistan.

Moied Javeed Director Sales, Mobilink commenting on the launch said, “Mobilink has always been at the vanguard for working with the government and the authorities to guarantee that it implements fool-proof mechanisms in the country for ensuring that only customers who are eligible can purchase SIMs. We are pleased to announce the successful deployment of BVS across Pakistan”

Mobilink’s BVS network is spread over 300 cities including both rural and urban areas. For ensuring that the retailers are familiar with the process Mobilink has completed the training of Franchise Owners and Customer Support Executives across Pakistan. For the purchase new SIMs customers can visit Mobilink sales centres and retailer outlets where SIMs can be purchased after thumb verification.
