Islamabad: Met Office informed that currently prevailing westerly wave produced scattered rains in Upper Khyber Pukhtoonkhawa (Peshawar, Hazara, Malakand, Kohat divisions), Punjab and Kashmir. Under the influence of westerly wave and active monsoon currents, the system is expected to intensify tonight.
It is very likely to produce widespread rain with moderate to heavy showers over upper parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during next 36 hours. During the period some heavy showers are also expected over catchment areas of Ravi and Chenab.
According to Met-Office Islamabad, Widespread rain of moderate intensity at times heavy is expected at a number of places of upper KPK(Peshawar, Hazara, Malakand, Kohat divisions), Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore ,Sahiwal divisions) and Kashmir tonight and Friday. Rain with isolated heavy showers also predicted for Islamabad during the period. However mainly dry weather expected in flood affected areas of Sindh during next few days.
