Karachi, June 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Media Affairs Sharmila Faruqui has said that Munawwar Hussain Suharwardi was sincere worker and leader of Pakistan Peoples Party who sacrificed his life for democracy and his services for democracy and country will always be remembered.
This she said in a statement issued on Saturday on the eve of eighth death anniversary of Munawwar Hussain Suharwardi who was assassinated on 17th June 2004. She said that he was committed to democracy and wanted to see democracy in true sense in the country. He never bowed before undemocratic forces.
She added, ‘Munawwar Suharwardi’s life is a perfect example of a democracy lover and our young generation should follow it and they should work to strengthen democratic institutions in the country.’
She said that the present democratic government had always appreciated the services of true workers like Suharwardi and firmly believed in making democratic institutions stronger that masses would be able to get maximum fruits of democracy.
