Islamabad, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, has accused India of transforming Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) into a severe conflict zone, marked by oppressive military presence and ongoing violence.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mullick, who is also the wife of the detained Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, issued a statement in Islamabad condemning the extensive deployment of Indian forces in the region. She characterized these actions as efforts to suppress Kashmiri dissent and maintain control over the disputed territory.
Mullick underscored the longstanding nature of the Kashmir conflict, noting its role as a central issue of discord between Pakistan and India and a factor in regional instability. She criticized the Indian government for its prolonged use of forceful measures to stifle opposition, asserting that these actions have not deterred the Kashmiri people’s aspirations for self-determination.
Furthermore, Mullick expressed disappointment in the international community and United Nations organizations for failing to fulfill their obligations to address the Kashmir issue, urging for a resolution that aligns with the will of the Kashmiri populace.
